Tom Bolt was appointed as non-executive director and Shareholder Representative at Talbot Underwriting Ltd, in October 2018. Tom Bolt is Chief Underwriting Officer of General Insurance and a member of the General Insurance Executive Leadership Team at AIG. In this role, he plays a critical role in driving the company's underwriting strategy and enhancing technical capabilities to position the company for profitable growth. He is also responsible for setting the global framework for underwriting authority and standards, aligned to AIG's overall risk appetite. Mr. Bolt is focused on AIG's underwriting and pricing decision making, strengthening discipline and global consistency, enhancing monitoring standards to improve loss ratio performance. He plays an integral role in shaping AIG's enhanced tools, models and analytic capacities to empower the company's underwriters.

Mr. Bolt has over 30 years of experience in the insurance and reinsurance industry. He joined AIG in January, 2018 from Berkshire Hathaway where he served as President and CEO of the UK and Southern Europe and was also a member of the Berkshire Hathaway International Insurance Ltd.'s Board of Directors. Prior to that, Mr. Bolt was Director of Performance Management at Lloyd's of London and Managing Director of Marlborough Managing Agency at Lloyd's. Before joining Lloyd's, he spent 25 years at Berkshire Hathaway in a variety of senior executive roles. Mr. Bolt earned a Bachelor of Arts and Master of Management (MBA) degrees from Northwestern University.
