James Middleton

James Middleton joined Talbot from AIG where he advised on corporate, restructuring, capital management and outsourcing transactions across the UK & European business. He played a leading role in AIG’s preparations for Brexit, successfully executing an innovative cross border merger and portfolio transfer to secure AIG’s ability to write and service European business. He also managed a number of insurance and reinsurance focused transactions both as UK Head of Legal and during two years in AIG’s Paris office.  Prior to joining AIG in 2008, James was an associate at a leading City law firm, specialising in private equity and corporate finance. He holds a first-class honours degree in History from the University of Nottingham, a postgraduate diploma in Law from Nottingham Law School and an MBA from Cranfield University.
