David Batchelor was appointed as independent non-executive director of Talbot in October 2019 and Chair of the Board in January 2021. Recently retired from the Marsh Group of Companies, David's career spanned 30 years in the insurance and risk management industry. His ultimate role at Marsh was the vice chairman of Marsh with his major responsibilities centred on global business supporting key strategic relationships with top clients and partners, with specific focus on major clients and insurance carrier partners, working with international leaders to improve the client experience and stimulate growth. Prior to this, David was the president of Marsh's International Division, responsible for oversight of the firm's operations outside North America. He started his career in 1976 with Bowring, prior to its acquisition by MMC in 1980. He received a BA business diploma from Walbrook College, London, is an associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute and was a member of the board of directors of British American Business (BAB).
