Melanie Hind joined our Board in June 2022 as an independent non-executive director and chair of the audit committee, subject to regulatory approval. She is a chartered accountant and has over 35 years of public policy and governance leadership experience. Melanie was a financial services assurance partner in PwC, building its insurance prudential regulatory practice before holding senior roles at Friends Life as CRO and as an Executive Director at the Financial Reporting Council, where she was responsible for setting and supervising codes and standards for corporate governance, investor stewardship, financial reporting, auditing and actuarial practice.

She is an Audit Non-Executive at KPMG UK and is also joining the board of OneFamily, a UK mutual insurer, and becoming an independent trustee at the Disasters Emergency Committee. Her previous charitable roles have included chairing a school governing body and as a director of an organisation supporting survivors of domestic violence. Melanie is an avid sports fan and loves to travel.
