Ian Peterson is the Active Underwriter for Syndicate 1183. He joined Talbot as a graduate in 2006 working in the Marine & Energy divisions before being appointed Head of Marine in 2019. Ian was Chief Executive of Talbot Underwriting Risk Services Ltd from 2019 to 2021, where he has overseen the formation of Talbot’s UK Political Violence Managing General Agent and Stirling Risk Solutions. He was also involved in creating Talbot’s innovation unit – INDEX – alongside a new underwriting division for new and emerging risk, ‘Alternative Risk’. Ian chairs Talbot’s innovation committee and insurance management committee. Ian has a degree in account and management, and has completed the Chartered Insurance Institute’s Advanced Diploma in insurance.
