Barnabas Hurst-Bannister was appointed as an independent non-executive director and Chair of the Underwriting Committee at Talbot Underwriting Ltd in September 2011. Mr. Hurst-Bannister began working in Lloyd's in 1975, as a political risks broker and then was responsible for underwriting a wide range of marine and non-marine classes latterly at Janson Green and subsequently LIMIT, before joining Travelers Syndicate Management Ltd, of which he became chairman in 2002 and from which he retired in 2011. Mr. Hurst-Bannister is an Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute. Mr. Hurst-Bannister has held directorships including Chair of the Governing Body for Charles Taylor, a former member of the Council of Lloyd's and the former Chairman of the London Market Group and the Lloyd's Market Association.
